Charities we support

Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealandwww.leukaemia.org.nz

Every day 6 children and adults in New Zealand are diagnosed with a blood cancer like leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma or a related blood condition. Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand (LBC) is the national charity dedicated to supporting patients and their families living with blood cancers like leukaemia and related blood conditions. They receive no government funding.

In 2020, Farmers and LBC are proudly celebrating the 12th anniversary since becoming charity partners!

The funds raised by our generous customers and staff are used to support LBC’s work in the community including core services such as personalised support for patients and their families. This includes running support groups, programmes, hospital visits and being there at the end of the phone to answer questions and concerns patients and families may have and provide information about their condition.

Donations are also used by LBC to provide funding for research into finding cures and better treatments, raising awareness of these diseases and advocating on behalf of patients.

If you, or someone you know, needs to be receiving support from Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand’s patient services, please contact their toll free number on 0800 15 10 15.

Together we raised

$819,487.56

Thank you to everyone who purchased a limited edition bauble or made a donation in 2020, your generosity is so appreciated by everyone using hospice services in our communities. The total raised by our staff and customers since 2014 exceeds $5 million, cementing this as the most successful and largest fundraising campaign in the history of hospices nationally. All of the $5 million donated over this time has gone... into providing palliative care free of charge in the communities in which the funds were raised

For our whanau at Farmers, thank you doesn’t seem adequate as we reflect on the phenomenal total raised from our 2020 campaign. I am once again humbled and blown away by the amount you raised to support all hospices across Aotearoa New Zealand. 2020 was a challenging year for hospice as health care providers with the response to COVID-19 and I know it was equally as challenging for you in the retail sector. What this record breaking total shows is that despite how hard the year was people remained compassionate, grateful and generous and you gave them a way to do that by being a fundraising ambassador for hospice in the lead up to Christmas. Thank you and please know that every patient, family member, staff member and volunteer at hospice really does appreciate your efforts. You have made a difference to the lives of many.

Arohanui to you all

for New Zealand Red Cross to provide support to the victims and families of the Christchurch terror attacks

"We’re extremely grateful for the generosity and compassion shown by Farmers customers and staff. The funds raised will enable Red Cross to employ a specialist youth worker in Christchurch for the next two years. We know there is an urgent need to provide support for young people from a refugee background, and this support will be especially critical in the long term."
