Rain date: Sunday 2nd December 2018
Make sure you save the date for our 85th Santa Parade! We will update you over the year with exciting new floats and entertainment as they come on board!
The Farmers Santa Parade is a tradition so beloved by Aucklanders that it hardly needs introduction. In 2018, this iconic event celebrates an incredible 85 years of existence.
The 2018 Parade will celebrate the past 85 years through once again bringing together bands, performers and cultural groups.
The showcase of musical and performance talent will be accompanied by an array of floats and inflatables. The latest inflatables from the US and Canada will join licensed character costumes loved by children and parents alike.
Along with the already beloved floats which feature the likes of Cinderella, Willy Wonka, Goldilocks and the Three Bears and Santa, will be two exciting new floats; a new Dinosaur float which will tower over the crowd below and a Nutcracker themed float which will capture the hearts and imaginations of all.
The 2017 Farmers Santa Parade was absolutely seamless, with Emirates Team New Zealand skippering over 4,000 participants through the city as our Grand Marshals. With a glorious Steampunk theme highlighted by the magnificent dragon ‘Thunder’, we are proud to have given New Zealand a Parade to remember.
Putting on an amazing, family-friendly event for all would be impossible without our army of volunteers donating their time and energy to the cause, and for that we would like to express our total gratitude.
We look forward to seeing you again for the Farmers Santa Parade 2018!
Peppa Pig joined the eager crowds after the Parade at Santa’s Party in Aotea Square, showcasing her enthusiasm for jumping in muddy puddles! At the live show, kids and adults alike were entertained by the international star and she even joined us at the Farmers tent for a special meet-and-greet with her littlest and most excited fans!
A very special thank you to all the generous spectators who donated to the Salvation Army at their pre-parade collection and the Farmers’ face-painting tent.
Together, they raised an amazing $6,149.70 during the day.
All funds raised at this year's parade will be used by The Salvation Army to support Kiwis who are struggling at Christmas with food, gifts, budgeting, counselling, emergency accommodation and other relief.
